Terms & Conditions

All reasonable steps are taken by Real Kiwi Horse Trekking to mitigate accidents; however, horses are animals and riders ride at their own risk.

Real Kiwi Horse Trekking will not be held responsible for weather conditions. New Zealand is a small mountainous country and our climate is heavily influenced by two main geographical features: the mountains and the sea. As a result, weather conditions can fluctuate significantly at any time of the year – especially in the high-country. Track conditions can quickly become dangerous to ride. Therefore, it is imperative each rider adheres to their guides instructions.

Real Kiwi Horse Trekking reserves the right to cancel a trek, reschedule a trek or choose an alternative trekking route at anytime due to weather conditions. Safety is paramount for our guides, horses and riders. We will contact you as soon as we know track conditions via email or the phone.

Riders must wear a protective helmet for the entire trek duration.

Riders are responsible for bringing appropriate clothing and footwear.

Personal belongings such as baggage, cameras and cell phones are welcome. All personal items are rider’s sole responsibility.

We do not allow clients to ride with backpacks/handbags or large cameras. Real Kiwi Horse Trekking is not responsible for any damage or loss of items. Any found lost property will be returned at client’s cost.

Please advise your guide of any medical conditions or medication that you need to carry with you.

Our staff are here to make sure your journey is one of enjoyment and safety. Please listen and follow their instructions. This is for your safety, the safety of our horses and other riders.

On arrival please ensure that you have carefully read and understand the waiver and terms and conditions. You as the client are required to complete all documentation.
